Many students are already having a hard time trying to make good grades in school. Some of them on the other hand are wondering what to do with their life. How about you? Do you know which degree to pursue later on? If not, then knowing the jobs what employers are looking for would definitely give you an idea on what course to take.
The Jobs platform Monster collected 943,003 market-wide job postings from different sources to come up with the most in-demand jobs to date. The company took special consideration for entry-level jobs, those that only need zero to two years of experience for applicants with a bachelor’s degree as a minimum requirement.
According to Monster career expert Vicki Salemi, following the direction where the jobs are is always a great choice especially for those who are unsure where to direct their skills or people who have trouble finding the right opportunity.
The Pew Research says that the top five jobs on Monster are well paid where they have a U.S. median salary of $55,775. On top of this, they are also expected to grow faster than the average of 7% over the next several years as shown in the data of Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Here are the top five entry-level jobs that are in-demand right now:
- Physical therapist
Expected job growth: 34 percent
- Registered nurse
Expected job growth: 16 percent
- Occupational therapist
Expected job growth: 27 percent
- Staff accountant
Expected job growth: 11 percent
- Sales representative
Expected job growth: 7 percent
For the year 2017, you may have noticed that health-care jobs are what employers are looking to hire. Last year, only registered nurse was included in the list.
Salemi says that being a part of the healthcare industry will let individuals contribute to an important national industry as well as give them the opportunity to help other people.
