The Khigh Rondel Stephens Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. is set to host its 16th annual awards program entitled ‘A Sunday Brunch.’ This will be held on June 11 from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Pines Manor, 2087 Lincoln Highway (Rte. 27), Edison, New Jersey, 08817. People can expect to see live music during the event.
People are now being invited to come and enjoy an afternoon of celebration that they promise to be attended by the best and brightest Jersey College-bound students. They also have a brunch that will be prepared by the Pines Manor, which is made more delectable with the help of live entertainment.
Jazz saxophonist Duke Guillaume will be a part of the show, where he will be showcasing his own brand of gospel jazz along with original songs from his newly released CD, ‘Power of Praise’. Performing alongside him will be the teen vocalist, Briannagh D.
Tickets will be sold for $60 but vendors will also be on hand. The KRS Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. was established in January 2000 by the Stephens Family together with the Law Firm of Thomas E. Hood. This was in memory of Khigh Rondel Stephens, a passenger of a fatal automobile accident that happened back in January 4, 1998. Stephens was an honors graduate of the New Brunswick High School class of 1997. He was a student at the Clark Atlanta University at the time of his death.
To fund awards scholarships to students who exhibit exemplary character and have either academic ability or financial need. Those who are active in church and community are also considered for funding. This has given scholarships to 55 students since 2002, totalling to funds of $43,000.
